My name is Henry and I am an English private tutor. I am a Master's student at the University of Hong Kong and currently based on Hong Kong Island. With my past experiences as a tutor I am able to give you a professional learning enviroment that will suit your needs. At a native level I am able to speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin. I am an educator with over 15 years of experience. Having worked with children of all ages, as well as children with additional needs, has allowed me to fine-tune my teaching skills to meet the needs of every child. My teaching methods focus on building symbol imagery and concept imagery to develop reading fluency, accuracy, and overall comprehension. The first free session is an initial consultation with the parents/carers, as well as a reading and comprehension assessment for the student. This will allow me to understand the student's needs better and plan their learning plan accordingly. For all students, I believe in the importance of making learning fun. This can look different according to the age and needs of each student, but I enjoy tailoring my sessions for students - for example, using themed motivational tools to engage learners and taking brief brain breaks to help students stay focused. I solely teach online using Zoom or Teams, so students must be able to use the platform independently. If students are too young to use the platform independently, I ask that a parent or carer sit in on all lessons to support with any technical issues.

I am an English teacher and I have been teaching English for nine years already. I have spent the last 4.6 years of my teaching career in China. I have taught English to kindergarten students in China. Prior to that, I had taught English in the Philippines for almost five years. I also taught in Sunday school in my home country. However, as I have pursued and achieved my goals here in China and in the Philippines, I have realized to widen my horizon by teaching English in Barcelona, Spain. Barcelona is my dream place because of its promising and spectacular attractions. I also know that English is not widely spoken in Barcelona.
