Hello! I'm an experienced English and ESL tutor based in Amsterdam. I specialize in both English language learning and English literature, and I bring a flexible, student-centered approach to every lesson. I have been teaching English, ESL, and English literature at the high school level since graduating three years ago. Since then, I’ve worked with learners of all ages — from young children (3 years old) to adults — in a wide range of settings, including private homes, primary schools, junior high schools, high schools, and at the British Language Training Centre (BLTC) in Amsterdam. I hold a CELTA certification, a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Culture, and a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature Education. I like to know what YOU want to learn, whether that be preparing for a job interview or university, practicing your general conversation skills, or just getting a handle on the basics and practicing pronunciation. The general structure of my classes will cover the words we are focusing on before moving on to practice specific, predetermined dialogues in the session (which can grow and evolve with you). If this system isn’t working for you or you want to practice something specific, I am always happy to cater to your needs and really want to ensure that we are covering what YOU want to know and bringing you into the process of figuring out what we will cover.
