Passionate English teacher with 22 years of experience in local and international schools in Hong Kong. My aim is to prepare children to soar with confidence and discover their full potential. I teach a variety of classes, including phonics, reading comprehension, creative writing, grammar, and assessment preparation for both local and international schools, including UK 7+ and 11+ examinations. I have a proven track record of successfully preparing students for their 7+ and 11+ exams. I develop and implement creative, constructive lesson plans in accordance with the EYFS and the British National Curriculum, delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons. Geography, history, literature, and global citizenship are integrated into English lessons as appropriate for each student's level to expand their general knowledge and awareness of the world around them. I liaise with school teachers (with parental permission, if necessary) to support and strengthen the child’s foundation in English, ensuring alignment with their school's curriculum. I also assist with assessment and quiz preparation for students in both local and international schools. Through my passion for language and a wide range of resources tailored to each child's needs, I engage and broaden their reading and writing repertoire, guiding learners toward their academic goals. Hello! My name is Dione, but most people who know me call me Dee. I am currently based in Southern Thailand, in Phuket. I have been working in the field of education for 10 years and like to think that I have an energetic teaching style. During this time, I have worked with students and learners of various ages, utilizing a wide range of modern teaching methods. I am a TEFL-certified teacher and an English writing skills tutor, so I am also happy to help those studying any humanities subjects with their assignments. I believe in flexible teaching, which means that the atmosphere for learning is relatively relaxed. This doesn’t mean that I want you sleeping in class, but I do want you to feel comfortable asking questions and speaking freely within the level of English you understand.
