I am a published author, college writing instructor, and Professional Certified Coach (PCC). I have taught English and writing for over 20 years and provide coaching on academic planning and performance. I am located in New York City and tutor and coach online. My interests include Italian, Renaissance studies, British literature, composition, writing across the curriculum, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), essay writing and fiction writing.

I am a senior in high school with a 4.91 weighted GPA. I have passed classes such as Calculus, Advanced Physics, and Chemistry. I can teach Math, Latin, and Composition. I live in Manhattan, and I have been a summer camp counselor for the past 3 years. I love working with kids and have learned how to explain things in a way they will understand. I am excited to help your child pass their classes with flying colors.

I have many years’ experience teaching, two years’ one-on-one, in classrooms, online and in person. I receive consistent five-star ratings from students and parents, who appreciate the creativity and excitement I share with students. I am also a professional writer, and can help students develop their writing skills beyond spelling, grammar and research. I hold New York State certification to teach English and Social Studies, and ITTT certification to teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). I have taught both English and Social Studies (U.S. history and Global Studies) in New York City high schools. I often help students prepare for AP & Regents World History exams, as well as the New York State ELA and SAT. I also teach English to Chinese students to prepare for the TOEFL and IELTS exams, and provide free lance tutoring in English and Social Studies to students in Grades 5 through 12. I have recently been consulting as an Intensive Literacy Support Specialist for reading-challenged and dyslexic students, with GreatLeaps.com. I examine and profile student needs for intervention, and implement a program of intervention and support, which has achieved significant results: excellent reading progress for the student. I have a bachelor’s degree in English from York University, a master’s in Public Administration from New York University, and thirty graduate credits in teaching from Columbia University Teachers College and City College of New York. I also have three years’ bilingual consulting experience in Central America. I am fluently bilingual in English and Spanish. I have reading comprehension of French and Portuguese, and am currently studying Mandarin Chinese.
