Hi, I'm Tahera! I recently graduated with magna cum laude from New York Institute of Technology with BS in Biology and a Minor in Math. I have 8+ years experience tutoring from elementary to college students, and currently am working as a STEM instructor for a prestigious NYC program.

I have worked in education for over 17 years. Throughout my career, I have written and taught curriculum that connects students to academic subjects and topics through methods that are engaging and relatable. I have had the exciting privilege to utilize learning strategies by tailoring lessons to meet the distinct needs and unique abilities of each student. I am able to modify my lessons accordingly. I believe that there is not just one approach to help a student be able to grasp content. It is this philosophy that propels my practice as an educator. It is my mission to challenge my students to reach their highest potential, develop skills, and deepen understanding. My strategy is for students not only to gain expertise, but to love learning. I strive help my students reach personal goals so that they become self-directed and self-motivated. The experience that they gain will allow them to work independently in the future. I encourage students to strive for excellence and to achieve their best. I put care and concern into developing strengths and thoughtful and patient effort into supporting students to overcome their challenges. I am experienced in private tutoring from elementary through high school and college. I work with varying abilities, such as gifted and talented, special education, emotionally troubled, homebound, and autistic populations. I have online and in person experience tutoring in English Language Arts-reading, writing, comprehension, fiction and non -fiction study from kindergarten through college, SAT/ACT verbal and written, as well as American and world history. I provide instruction in College Humanities subjects.

Hi there! I'm Tina, located in good old NYC. My specialties are the healthcare and biological sciences, though I also have an interest in psychology! In my free time, I volunteer through NYCares, assist with research, and (of course) find some time to play video games or watch my favorite shows.
