I have over 15 years of teaching experience, specializing in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Engineering subjects. I have been teaching since my university days, where I was part of a volunteer teaching program. I have a background in Mechanical Engineering (3.7 GPA, Hons.) from RMIT Australia and scored 4 A*s in A Levels at Taylor's College. I have helped lead hundreds of students to achieve their academic goals. In addition to tutoring students, my teaching notes and assessment questions have also been published and used in e-learning platforms. I consider myself a friendly, engaging, and caring teacher who is able to adapt to the student’s needs, personality, and learning style. I typically teach by reviewing fundamental concepts to ensure a strong understanding and their real-world applications before moving on to past-year topical practice and answering techniques, with continuous tracking of areas to improve and strengthen. Regular assessments are done every 3-4 topics to ensure understanding is maintained and strengthened. I believe that each and every student is different, so I will adjust my teaching style accordingly. I generally try to simplify a concept without losing any content. I will break up a challenging topic into smaller, more digestible topics. Research suggests that non-experts are better off looking at solutions, so I will solve questions while explaining my thinking process. This will allow you to mimic it in exams. Afterwards, I will assign a very small but targeted amount of questions to help solidify your understanding. This way, you will not waste time doing the same type of questions repeatedly. It doesn't matter if you are a student who usually receive B or D grades - my goal is to help you achieve an A*.
