I have more than 5 years of experience teaching English to students of all types. My preferred students to teach are those who need extra attention or who struggle with school work. Hello, My name is Mike Yu and I am interested in tutoring in English. I grew up in the U.S. and spent up to a year teaching English in Korea and Japan. I have a degree in Economics and also took a course in TESOL, but most of my professional experience is in IT in the U.S. I hope to help students be confident when speaking English. It takes time, but with enough effort and comfort, English should come easily. I'm looking to transition out of IT and have a more flexible working schedule, and tutoring in English will allow this. I'm currently in the U.S., but plan to relocate back to HK around January of 2026 for a few years. I have an HK permanent ID card so I won't require any sort of visa sponsorship.
