Good day! I am Stephen, an English language teacher for grades 4 and above at a private school in Nonthaburi. In my class, I ensure that the students understand the vocabulary well and pronounce it correctly, which helps them become more confident in speaking. My teaching often involves real-life examples to relate the lessons to their everyday lives, making it easier for them to immerse themselves in what they have learned. I also utilize dynamic trends that appeal to youngsters to capture their attention and encourage better memory retention. I also taught English to young learners, beginner, intermediate, and advanced students through online teaching of Chinese and Japanese students. While stepping into this role, I earned my TEFL certification after completing an on-line 120-hour course. Through my teaching experiences and TEFL studies, I developed critical pedagogy and classroom management skills, along with a passion for teaching English. In my classes, I typically set aside five to ten minutes at the start of each class for students to share their “highs” and “lows” for the week, a ritual that my students have appreciated. I aim to support students’ social-emotional well-being as they learn English and deepen their global awareness. I am an upbeat, positive person with lots of energy and ability to communicate complex information in an understandable way students can easily comprehend. My strong initiative and exceptional organisational skills, combined with my ability to work well under pressure, allow me to play a crucial role in a fast-paced teaching environment.
