I have passed the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers in Mandarin and the National Putonghua Proficiency Test with excellent results (achieving Level 2 Grade A in PSC). My overall IELTS score is 7.5/9, with a reading score of 8/9 and listening score of 8/9.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I then studied in the United States for undergraduate and master's degrees. I have a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University and a Master of Science from the University of California, Berkeley (Ranked #8 in the world, 2025). I am a native speaker of Cantonese and speak fluent English. Given my experience in the United States, I understand both local culture and Western culture well. I can help you communicate more easily in Cantonese and learn about the unique characters and culture of Cantonese and the Guangdong region. I am also proficient in Mandarin and welcome students of all nationalities. I have several years of tutoring experience with international school students and adults. I am a patient tutor and my teaching style is interactive and practical.
