As a native English speaker based in Bangkok I will be able to teach you all the different aspects of the language: grammar, accent (American), vocabulary, etc. I have received high scores on both the IELTS and TOEFL so I will be able to prepare you for these tests as well.

My greatest passion in life is Education - the ability to constantly learn and educate young minds. This is the foundation of my commitment to helping out my students, whatever their abilities may be. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from a University in Canada as well as a TESOL Certificate, and have been working at an International School in Hong Kong for the past 12 years. My hobbies include reading, writing, motherhood (parent of 2), event planning, yoga, hiking, cooking, baking, and traveling. I have been tutoring and teaching Math and English for 12 years in various – tutoring small and large groups, private individual tutoring (at student's home), and online via Skype or Zoom. As a born-and-raised American, I realize how valuable my natural fluency, thorough vocabulary, and intuitive diction are in an international environment such as Berlin. Having spent the first 21 years of my life in The United States, I am versed not only in formal English speaking and writing, but also in the less-often-taught colloquial language that characterizes native-speakers' language. I have extensive experience with proof-reading, vocabulary development, articulation/inflection guidance, and colloquial grammar. I have over five years of experience teaching English and I hold a 168-hour TEFL Certificate, issued by The TEFL Academy, accredited by Qualifi and The DEAC (Distance Education Accrediting Commission). An incoming student to Harvard University, Lindsey hopes to be able to provide assistance to fellow students of all ages on their educational journeys, mostly through improving their speaking, comprehension, or listening skills in English. Having attended boarding school in the US for the past 4 years, Lindsey is fully fluent in English and is also a native Cantonese speaker. She has experience tutoring afterschool classes both in Hong Kong and the US, largely in group settings. She is very willing to tailor the teaching syllabus and schedule according to student needs, and would love to build personal connections with her students in order to build up their confidence and encourage personal development alongside their skills.

I have nearly 20 years of experience in the language, in study, translation, and teaching and mentorship. I love languages in general, and that has enhanced my English language ability as well, making me more proficient and well-round as a teacher in nearly every aspect of English- from grammar to phonics, or writing to reading practice and comprehension While I’ve always enjoyed talking about language or helping others when they need it, it’s only in the past 5 years with the birth of my daughter, that I have come to realize that I have a talent and take joy from teaching. She has Down Syndrome, and my time with her has taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and a bit of fun when working with students.
