Hello! I’m Sienna, a qualified and experienced Primary Teacher with over 8 years of teaching experience in the UK and internationally. I trained at the University of St Mark & St John and have taught both the EYFS Framework and the UK National Curriculum in inclusive, nurturing settings. I am originally from Devon, UK, and have been living in Thailand since 2019. During this time, I have had the privilege of teaching children from a wide range of cultural and language backgrounds, as well as with diverse learning needs. This has strengthened my ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and support each child as an individual. As a tutor, I specialise in English and Maths for primary-aged children. In addition, I can support your child across the wider primary curriculum, including Science and topic-based learning. I create engaging, visual and interactive lessons that build confidence as well as skills. I am a British teacher of English language and literature, and I have been working in Hong Kong since 2001. Before that, I taught English in Japan for over 10 years. From 2001 until 2023, I was a senior tutor at AMG Ltd. in Language and Literature for students aged 8-18. At AMG, I taught UKISET, IDAT, ISEB 11+ and 13+, SSAT, (I)GCSE, HKDSE, IB, SAT, NAPLAN, IELTS, LSAT, and many other Australian and Canadian curricula. I successfully prepared students to enter top British private schools, including scholarships for Benenden, Eton, Harrow, Winchester, and Wycombe Abbey, as well as schools and universities in the UK, US, Canada, and Australia. Many of my former students are now successful young professionals in business, law, medicine, and many other fields. In my first lessons, I learn what the student enjoys reading and their level of comprehension so I can supply interesting, relevant lessons in which they will learn more vocabulary and how to analyze a text. I also help students develop their creative writing through structured prompts and clear models. For older students, I focus on essay techniques and literary analysis, including how to analyze language and structure in texts. For those students preparing for IELTS, we cover all areas of the examination by looking at past papers and best practices. I also offer interview practice for Hong Kong international schools and schools in the UK and elsewhere. I have extensive experience in preparing students for online as well as face-to-face interviews; my focus is on building up learners’ self-confidence and interpersonal skills so they can present their best selves to any interviewer. Classes are conducted one-on-one in a comfortable office. There is also a great reception area for students to wait in before class if they need a place to do homework.

I have been teaching English and Greek to foreigners since 1989 in tutorials and since 1991 at private schools of English and Greek. I am currently teaching at my own private school of languages. I am duly qualified and fully committed to my job and the fact that I work more than 10 hours a day justify that accordingly. A great lot of my students have already been teaching English and Greek, have been working abroad or have been successfully using the languages for their professions.
