I am an English teacher with over 10 years of experience. Currently, I work at a major international school based in Bahrain and primarily teach learners at the middle school and IGCSE/GCSE levels. My specializations are linguistics and literature, and I currently cover the Cambridge curriculum, although I am also familiar with the Edexcel and AQA curricula. I believe that the key to success is building rapport with students and truly understanding them on an individual basis. Whether it's comprehension, writing compositions, or spoken English, I strive to see improvement in my students. Previously, I worked at the British Council Bahrain for just under 5 years, where I provided classes to a wide range of students, from ages 5 to 17 as well as adults. During this time, I developed a large portfolio of my own lessons and lesson plans, while also focusing on my own professional development. The types of classes I taught included general English, business English, and IELTS. Currently, I am teaching both Language and Literature using the Cambridge curriculum to years 9, 10, and 11. My lessons incorporate activities with differentiation and engaging tasks to keep the learners motivated.
