Physics and Mathematics Enthusiast
I have a diversified experience of tutoring for more than 8 years. My areas of expertise are Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics. The main selling point of my service is making each concept relevant to real-life processes. I use analogies, and physical significance to make a situation clear to the students. I am always ready to change and modify my approach to a problem if needed. I ask guiding questions to get the level of a student and make a quick roadmap for the problem or for the concept. I have both an online and offline tutoring experience. I have handled both group and one to one classes.

My love for math will rub off on you, online or in Tarrant County
I very much enjoy tutoring and am looking forward to working with you. Even students who feel like they are drowning can grab hold of a lifeline.' I bring an indepth understanding of the subject material together with an understanding of how to relate to students who may dislike the subject. I have had multiple students tell me they used to hate math, but have learned to master their coursework. I have multiple years of experience in many educational settings. I've taught remedial math courses, GED Math classes, and test preparation classes for graduate school all for Tarrant County College. However, my tutoring includes almost any math course from elementary school up through upper division college, math major only classes. I tutored a high school student in Computer Science (a subject outside my specialty). He went from an F to an A over the course of the year. Of course I can't promise similar results, but will certainly try. I tutored at the UTA math clinic for a year. I got my Bachelor's in Math at UTA with a 3.5 GPA in my math classes. I tutor in most of Tarrant County, some surrounding areas and online. I would love to hear from you.

Experienced High School Math Tutor in Brooklyn
Hi! My name's Nick and I am a Brooklyn-based math educator. I have a BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from Baruch College (CUNY). For two years now, I have taught high school math both in a formal classroom setting and in one-on-one sessions. I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to help over 100 students from a variety of backgrounds and knowledge levels attain their goals. Particularly, I have a great deal of experience helping students prepare for the SAT's and the NYS Regents Exams (all subjects). I guide students through the process of deciding on a exam score to aim for, and then we work to attain that score. I'm happy to report that students I work with almost always achieve their desired score.

Excellent NYC Mathematics Tutor
Hello. I graduated from Pennsylvania State University in May of 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. During my undergraduate career, I tutored fellow students in a variety of maths. Upon graduating, I continued to tutor a bariety of math at a local community college until I was able to get my first full time job. Unfortunately, I did not have the time to continue tutoring, but I maintained a love for teaching and training and I always offered to teach and train fellow employees. I have recently obtained a new job which allows me more free time to get back into tutoring as I did enjoy the challenge of teaching such a universally difficult subject. I love math and I am looking into retaking the GRE exams so that I may attend graduate school. I think LearnPick would be a great place to start. I teach all math from elementary school math to pre calculus. I would love to tutor calculus again after some breif relearning. I reside in New York City and would love to either online tutor or tutor in person. I believe in person tutoring is more effective, but online tutoring provides the opportunity to students with busy afterschool schedules. I take joy in tutoring and helping young students to conquer mathematics.

👉 What is the best approach for studying and retaining mathematical concepts?

Improving problem-solving skills in Mathematics requires practice, patience, and persistence. Try solving problems on a regular basis, seeking out challenging problems, breaking down complex problems into smaller steps, and seeking help from a teacher or tutor when needed. Additionally, studying the solutions to similar problems and understanding the reasoning behind them can also be helpful.

👉 How can I prepare for mathematical exams and assessments?

Preparing for mathematical exams and assessments involves reviewing and practicing key concepts, solving sample problems, and seeking help from teachers or tutors. It is also important to manage time effectively during exams and to understand the format and type of questions that will be asked.

👉 What are the common mistakes made by students while learning Mathematics and how can they be avoided?

Common mistakes made by students while learning Mathematics include not paying attention to details, rushing through problems, not checking work, and not seeking help when needed. These mistakes can be avoided by being attentive, taking time to understand the problem, double-checking work, and asking for assistance when needed.

👉 How can I overcome a fear or dislike of Mathematics?

Overcoming a fear or dislike of Mathematics requires a change in mindset and attitude. This can be achieved by breaking down complex problems into smaller parts, seeking help from teachers or tutors, finding real-life applications of mathematical concepts, and focusing on understanding the concepts rather than just getting the right answer.

👉 What are the career opportunities for someone with a strong foundation in Mathematics?

A strong foundation in Mathematics can lead to a variety of career opportunities, including actuarial science, finance, data analysis, computer science, engineering, and education. Mathematics is also a valuable skill in many other fields, such as physics, economics, and statistics.

👉 What is trigonometry, and why is it important for students to learn?

Trigonometry is a mathematical field of study that focuses on the relationships between angles and sides of triangles. It has been used for thousands of years to study architecture, Astronomy and navigation, making it an important part of Mathematics today. For students, understanding trigonometry can lead to further educational opportunities and career advancements in many scientific fields.

As a foundational concept in Mathematics, trigonometry is essential for students who wish to pursue engineering, Physics or even Computer Science degrees. Trigonometric concepts are used when calculating forces in Physics problems such as projectile motion and centripetal force. It is also used heavily in geometry when testing the properties of shapes like circles and rectangles.

👉 How can students use trigonometry to solve problems related to geometry and Physics?

By understanding the fundamental principles of trigonometry, students can use this powerful mathematical tool to gain valuable insights into complex physical problems.

For geometry-related problems, trigonometry can be used to measure angles and distances between points on a two-dimensional plane. Trigonometric functions such as sine, cosine and tangent are essential for calculating the size of angles and sides within triangles, which is often necessary for solving geometric proofs. In addition, it is possible to use trigonometric identities to manipulate equations into simpler forms that are easier to solve by hand or with a computer program.

In Physics applications, students can use trigonometry to calculate forces acting on objects in motion as well as their resultant acceleration and velocity vectors.

👉 What are the different trigonometric functions and how do they relate to each other?

The trigonometric functions are an important group of mathematical functions defined by the ratios between the sides of right-angled triangles.

There are six main trigonometric functions: sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant, and cotangent. These functions are related to each other by fundamental relationships such as Pythagoras’ theorem or the law of sines. These relations allow for problems involving triangles to be solved using trigonometric equations. Additionally, these equations can also be used to calculate the length or angle measurements within any triangle without having knowledge about the other two measurements.
