Hi! I'm a math tutor with approximately four years of tutoring experience. I have just graduated with an honors degree in pure mathematics, specializing in algebraic topology. During high school, I completed the International Baccalaureate program and achieved a level 7 in HL Maths. My main approach is to support students by working through problems together and identifying any key mistakes or gaps in their knowledge. Additionally, I am more than happy to provide support in other ways, such as teaching theory, which is tailored to each student's needs. As a tutor, my goal is to equip my students with the confidence to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. Currently, I am abroad, so I am only able to offer online tutoring. However, I will be returning to Hong Kong in January 2023 and would be delighted to provide in-person tutoring at that time.

My name is Dean. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Nelson Mandela University and I am currently working as a Math Tutor at Kip McGrath Education Centre in Newton Park, Port Elizabeth. I have plenty of experience teaching maths and I am passionate about the subject. My teaching style involves a lot of back-and-forth communication. This is the best way to determine where the gaps in knowledge are and what needs to be focused on in order to improve. I encourage my students to ask a lot of questions. My goal is to help the student understand the operations and terminology in Mathematics. Math is not a subject where you can simply memorize theory in order to pass. It forces you to think and problem solve, which is made a lot easier if the student understands what the question is asking and what they are doing.
