Hello! I am an undergraduate student at Brown University and I have an associates degree from Bard College. I have been a writing center tutor for two years, I have tutored Latin for four years, and I have been the Teacher's Assistant in a college level Ancient Greek class. I feel passionate about the potential that tutoring can bring out in an individual, and look forward to getting to know all my tutees!

I am a Computer Science tutor based in Manhattan. I specialize in tutoring in Java but can teach very basic Python coding as well as computer science principles like abstract data types and algorithms.

My name is Yvonne and I look forward to the opportunity to teach your child! I am a certified teacher who taught in the public school system for twenty years. I possess New York State certification in common branches (nursery through grade 6) and in the visual arts (grade K through grade 12). I also have a master’s degree in education. Although the majority of my teaching experience is at the elementary level, I have also taught middle and high school level students. I worked in a variety of capacities throughout my lengthy teaching career including, but not limited to, an elementary grade level class entitled, “Literacy Through the Visual Arts,” using an original curriculum that I created as an instructional guide. I reinforced English Language Arts skills by integrating visual arts instruction. Another position I held was entitled Academic Intervention Specialist for grade K through grade 3. I had the great advantage of being exposed to various reading programs with the responsibility of selecting the ones I considered most effective and reporting my professional assessment to the school administration. I worked with small groups of students which allowed for the use of intensive instructional strategies for reading and math. Another rewarding position I held was that of a NYC Dept. of Education Mentor for my school district. I provided training to first year teachers which included writing observation evaluations with improvement strategies, planning and conducting professional development workshops, and being a much needed supportive friend. I currently work as a professional tutor with students of varied grades and skill levels.

My name is Horia. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science from SUNY Stony Brook. I have done research in several labs and currently am research black coral genomes at the American Museum of Natural History. I have tutored one student in SAT prep. While my tutoring history is short, I have taught a plethora of students how to swim and have explained information that proved difficult to my colleagues throughout my undergraduate career. I’m currently a reporter, working at TIME Magazine. I have been working in journalism for the past four years. As a reporter, I spend a lot of time working on grammar, sentence structure and vocabulary. I attended Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism and earned my masters in 2016. I also went to Penn State University and got my bachelors degree. While an undergraduate at Penn State, I was a volunteer tutor with the Academics Assistant Program, where I tutored fellow college students in a variety of topics and course work.

Hello! My name is Kaycie and I'm a recent graduate with a Bachelor's in chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry! I have been tutoring students for several years in Math, Science and English. I am from New York and i have my degree from Queens College in English and Journalism. I have previous expieriences teaching at Kiddie Academy in Flushing, New York. I also have expierience working with special needs students at QSAC preschool in Douglaston, New York for two years.

I am an undergraduate student in CUNY Queens College, majoring in Psychology and pursuing a Medical Doctorate Degree. My specialty specifically lies in the fields of Abnormal Psychology, Psychopharmacology, and Clinical Psychology. I will complete my degree by Fall 2019. I primarily tutor primary and secondary level Psychology, Algebra, Biology, General and Organic Chemistry, and occasionally History. I cater my approach at a conceptual level. This way, students don't just memorize details, but actually understand the concepts. In my experience, the more the students can understand a concept, the better they can perform and eventually grow love for the subject.
