Hello, my name is Alice. I am an Australian born Chinese. I have been residing in Hong Kong since 2011. I am a Master graduate with a major in Art and professional practice. During my study, I have been teaching exchange students from overseas privately. Mainly focusing on day-to-day conversations (which is my best area), oral exam preparations, listening and creative writing. A lot of students are very good in writing and listening because schools have trained them to be able to read and write during exams. But when it comes to speaking, kids usually have a lack in confidence, so I have been teaching them how to speak confidently and to conquer their shyness in front of native speakers. My courses are very useful for students who are planning to study aboard or preparing for interviews into an English-speaking company. I also provide a fun learning environment. I am a fourth-year student at an Education University, majoring in Primary School English Education. I grew up in Singapore and served in the emergency ambulance service for several years before changing career paths to teaching. I am a well-read, multicultural individual. My longest-running students are two Mainland boys currently in Grades 5 and 8 who are attending the Singapore International School (SISHK). During the current Covid pandemic I am teaching online using Zoom as well as providing limited face to face classes. I am a native English speaking graduate with a Bachelor Degree in History from the The University of Liverpool. However, my skill in the language increased dramatically from the moment I set foot in Edinburgh, Scotland for the first time back in 2015 to receive my high school education.
