Online Math tutor in New York. I will teach you how to think Mathematically!
Hello, my name is Airat! I teach math classes in English and Russian for students of schools and colleges. I have a bachelor's degree in electronics and electrical engineering. There was a lot of serious mathematics during my studies, and I continue to study this fascinating subject. During my studies at school and university, I participated in mathematical Olympiads and won prizes at some of them. For the 8th year now, I've been sharing my experience in understanding the mathematics curriculum and solving mathematical problems. My students are improving their grades, developing math problem-solving skills, and logical thinking in general. I'm also familiar with some popular exams (SAT MATH, ACT, AP Calculus, GCSE, IB). My approach is to teach how to think mathematically, be able to logically build a solution to a problem (even if it seems very complicated), and not just use formulas without understanding how they work. I explain complex mathematical things using simple real-life examples, as well as explain how to find a solution to a problem. This is necessary for a real understanding of mathematics, as well as for the successful completion of any exam. In my classes, I use an online whiteboard so that students can access notes from our lessons at any time, as well as write down their own solutions. I've been studying mathematics for most of my life, so I know exactly which topics need to be explained to the student in order to close the gaps in knowledge. I also understand the difficulties students face in studying mathematics and other subjects. With each of my students, we overcome these difficulties together. I teach, in my opinion, the most important thing for mathematics - the ability to think mathematically and consciously do every action in order to come to a solution to a task. Therefore, in our lessons, we spend a lot of time on details, proofs of all theorems, properties, and necessarily the ability to apply them to solve problems. Many of my students wanted to study mathematics at an advanced level, although initially, it didn't seem so interesting. Therefore, if you want to understand the school curriculum, prepare for the exam, or just improve your grades, I will be happy to help you!

👉 How can I prepare for mathematical exams and assessments?

Preparing for mathematical exams and assessments involves reviewing and practicing key concepts, solving sample problems, and seeking help from teachers or tutors. It is also important to manage time effectively during exams and to understand the format and type of questions that will be asked.

👉 What are the common mistakes made by students while learning Mathematics and how can they be avoided?

Common mistakes made by students while learning Mathematics include not paying attention to details, rushing through problems, not checking work, and not seeking help when needed. These mistakes can be avoided by being attentive, taking time to understand the problem, double-checking work, and asking for assistance when needed.

👉 How can I overcome a fear or dislike of Mathematics?

Overcoming a fear or dislike of Mathematics requires a change in mindset and attitude. This can be achieved by breaking down complex problems into smaller parts, seeking help from teachers or tutors, finding real-life applications of mathematical concepts, and focusing on understanding the concepts rather than just getting the right answer.

👉 What are the career opportunities for someone with a strong foundation in Mathematics?

A strong foundation in Mathematics can lead to a variety of career opportunities, including actuarial science, finance, data analysis, computer science, engineering, and education. Mathematics is also a valuable skill in many other fields, such as physics, economics, and statistics.

👉 What are the best resources for learning Calculus?

There are many resources available for students to learn Calculus, each with strengths and weaknesses. Here we will look at some of the best resources for tackling this challenging yet rewarding subject.

For a comprehensive understanding of Calculus, textbooks remain the go-to resource. Textbooks provide detailed diagrams and explanations, which can be used alongside online video tutorials or in-person classes. They also offer useful definitions and formulas when solving problems related to the subject. Additionally, textbooks often come with practice questions to help reinforce concepts taught in class or online lectures.

Another excellent resource for learning Calculus is online video tutorials created by leading experts in the field.

👉 What are the most challenging aspects of learning Calculus?

One of the most challenging aspects of learning Calculus is grasping the concept of limits - one of its core components. Limits are used to determine whether a function approaches infinity or zero regarding specific points or values on an x-axis. Knowing how to apply these limits properly is essential for solving problems and understanding more advanced topics within this discipline.

Another challenge facing students is learning to differentiate between multiple types of derivatives, including ordinary, partial, and implicit derivatives.

👉 What Are the Best Strategies to Prepare for Calculus for Maths Exams?

First and foremost, it is essential to start early and create a plan of study that allows plenty of time for practising the material before the exam. To make sure all the topics have been covered, students should use well-structured notes and textbooks containing comprehensive explanations of Calculus concepts. Additionally, online resources such as videos or lectures can also be helpful tools for studying effectively.

Second, it is beneficial to work through past papers or sample questions in order to become familiar with the exam format and style — this will help reduce stress on test day.
